With only the finest quality of fiber making it to our veneer processing facility the fiber is then sliced, dried, clipped and assembled.
A very strict quality control program is followed at every step of the manufacturing process to produce veneers that meet and exceed our customer’s expectations.
Preparation and Slicing
All cants are conditioned for a minimum of 24 hours in steamers to prepare them for optimum slicing quality. Our skilled slicing operators make the necessary adjustments to our 8.5′ Capital Slicer to produce flitches ranging in thickness of .4mm to 2.0mm.
Any cants not meeting our standards are immediately repurposed into lumber or other value added products.
Drying
The flitch is fed into a dual feed dryer where speed and moisture levels are constantly monitored to comply with acceptable moisture levels. Any flitch exceeding our moisture level standards repeat the drying process until the standards are met.
Grading
Our grading process has the highest standards in the industry allowing BC Veneer to produce veneers that are virtually unsurpassed. Every flitch is hand inspected for several characteristics that results in the quality needed for door and window manufacturers, plucked instrument craftsmen and manufacturers of architectural products to stand out in their respective markets.
